After viewing this video, the viewer should be able to review the ultrasonographic approach for evaluation of the fetal heart and common pathologies that can be diagnosed with this approach.

Lectures:
  • Fetal Echocardiography: The Four Chamber View by Reem Abu-Rustum, MD, FACOG, FACS, FAIUM
  • Normal Fetal Heart Examination: Chambers, Arteries, and Veins--- Outflow Tracks and Arches by Luis Concalves, MD

Four-Chamber View
  1. The main objectives of this presentation are to: 1- Present the importance of the 4 chamber view 2- Discuss recent guidelines 3- Present the full "anatomy of the scene" 4- Explain how to obtain and interpret the 4 chamber view 5- Discuss the sensitivity of the 4 chamber view in the detection of congenital heart defects 6- Discuss the limitations of the 4 chamber view in the detection of congenital heart defects
Pulmonary Veins
  1. This presentation will provide an overview of the importance of imaging/assessing fetal systemic and pulmonary veins, the embryology of their development, a systematic approach to imaging, what can go wrong in development and imaging examples of these anomalies.
